Utila Lodge along with the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center have teamed up to bring you an exciting and fun filled week with a combination of whale shark research, photo ID, tagging & DNA sampling, encounter trips and SCUBA diving/snorkeling.

Includes 7 nights accommodation at Utila Lodge, all meals, all course materials and PADI processing fees, round trip airport transfers, courses, photo ID, tagging and DNA sampling, encounter trips, snorkeling and diving.

Whale Shark Weeks 2010

These weeks are reserved for guests with special interest in the ongoing research on whale sharks.

Sample schedule

• Saturday Day 1: PM Orientation
• Sunday Day 2: AM 2 fun dives
  PM whale shark presentation at WSORC
• Monday Day 3: AM 2 fun dives.
  PM whale shark encounter trip
• Tuesday Day 4: AM Whale shark awareness course, photo id, class lectures
  PM research trip and photo id.
• Wednesday Day 5: AM 2 fun dives.
  PM Reef fish course, night dive.
• Thursday Day 6: AM 2 fun dives,
  PM - class room lectures on tagging sharks and DNA sampling followed by demonstrations. PM night dive.
• Friday Day 7: AM Research trip / tagging and DNA collection.
  PM Island exploration and Certification awards
