Like many destinations in the Caribbean, getting here is part of the adventure. We have put together the following information to make both the travel planning and journey as safe and as easy as possible. Travel to Utila is most easily accomplished by first flying to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Tegucigalpa, Honduras or Roatan, Bay Islands. These three international airports have direct service from several U.S. cities including Miami, Houston, Atlanta and New Orleans. [click here] For those that prefer to do their own research on flights to Honduras and Utila, you may find the following links helpful: Once you have arrived in San Pedro Sula or Tegucigalpa, you will need to clear customs. Once you have cleared customs, you will need to use one of several domestic airlines to reach Utila. We recommend using our air quote request to arrange your transportation all the way to Utila. If you do, we will have someone meet you as you arrive in Honduras and assist you with transferring to the domestic airlines that service our island. Most flights to Utila from San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa make a stopover in La Ceiba, the largest city near Utila. You may need to change planes in La Ceiba; the airline staff will let you know. Once you arrive on Utila, we will meet you at the airport and then provide transport to our Lodge, where you will be offered a complementary cocktail or beverage. |
